Fundraising
Fundraising is yet another way to increase the effectiveness of the Tour de Fright. As such, we welcome any participant's efforts to independently raise money for the Hopeful Lutheran Church and Bromley Christian Church Community Outreach Funds. Below are a handful of measures that other cycling events have utilized to successfully raise money:
1. Start an e-mail campaign by e-mailing your family, friends, and co-workers. Be sure to include your personal fundraising goal in the e-mail and the reasons why you are riding. Personal e-mails have been one of the most successful ways teams and individuals have raised money in the past.
2. Host a fundraising party and ask people to pledge their support that night.
3. Create a buddy system. Ask a person who can't ride to help collect donations.
4. Bring your sponsor letter with you wherever you go. Show it to whomever you feel comfortable. You'll be surprised at how many people will want to pitch in!
5. Find out if your company has a matching gift program. Matching gifts can double your money.
6. Set a weekly fundraising goal. Work toward your goal week by week.
7. Raise $150 in just 6 days simply by doing the following:
Day 1 - Put in your own contribution of $25.
Day 2 - Ask your spouse, partner or best friend for $25.
Day 3 - Ask 2 relatives for $20.
Day 4 - Ask 3 friends for $15.
Day 5 - Ask 3 coworkers for $10.
Day 6 - Ask 5 neighbors for $5.
